Abstract

PURPOSE: To judge plural positions by arranging plural magnetism sensing elements in such a way that they differ in magnetism sensing direction, and finding a combination of the directions of pieces of magnetic flux piercing the magnetism sensing elements.
CONSTITUTION: A detecting mechanism consists of a detection body 11 as a moving member and a magnetic detection part 12. The detection body 11 is made of a soft magnetic material and on its top surface, blocks 13, 14 and 15 differing in shape are arranged fixedly at intervals. The block 13 has length (h) equal to the width (g) of the detection body 11, and the blocks 14 and 15 are nearly a half as long as the width (g) and each have one end positioned on either flank of the detection body 11. The magnetic detection part 12 cosists of an E-shaped magnet 16 and magnetism sensing elements 17 and 18 stuck to the front end and flank of the center leg of the magnet 16. Those two magnetism sensing elements 17 and 18 detect the magnetic detection part 12 approaching the blocks 13, 14 and 15, and being positioned between the blocks.
