Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned method capable of improving working efficiency inexpensively by a method wherein glass solder is utilized for the connection of the pipe which is passageway of a refrigerant carrier for the heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:The heat exchanger 10 is equipped with a fin 2, the pipes 3, 4 and a ring 11 while the glass solder 12 is utilized as a connecting agent for the connection of the pipe 3 to the pipe 4. The inner periphery of the pipe 3 is expanded by an expanding punch to fix the fin 2 to the pipe 3, thereafter a flare part 3a is worked and the ring 11 is secured to the outer periphery thereof. Next, the pipe 4 is inserted into the flare part 3a while the glass solder 12 is poured into the space of the inserting part to connect the pipe 4 to the flare part 3a.
