Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure the withstand voltage characteristic by setting colosely to pellets, a dielectric electrode having the potential equal to that of the diode output terminal, and generating a floating capacity, in an ignition device having the high voltage diode laminated with semiconductor pellets. CONSTITUTION:The high voltage terminal 24 having a high voltage diode D1 is formed into the umbrella-shaped conductive electrode 105 having the inner diameter which is 2mm. larger than the outer diameter of the glass mold 104 of the diode D1, which intrudes by about 30% into the conductive electrode 105. Therefore, the distribution capacity between the umbrella-shaped part 105 and the silicon pellet 101 close to the terminal 24 of the diode increases. Therefore, when the high frequency voltage due to spark discharge is applied to the diode D1, concentration of voltage to the silicon pellet 101 on the closer side to the high voltage terminal 24 is prevented. Thus, a small ignition device having superior withstand voltage characteristic can be obtained.
