Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a WC sintered superhard alloy for a hot working device member which has various high-temperature characteristics improved, by specifying the mean particle size of WC, the content of additive elements Mo, Cr, Al, Ni, and Co, and the amount of oxygen in impurities.
CONSTITUTION: WC sintered superhard alloy consists of 0.1W1wt% Mo, 0.1W 2wt% Cr, 0.1W3wt% Al, 5W30wt% Ni, 2.5W15wt% Co, and WC and inevitable impurities as the remainder. The content of oxygen as the impurities in this alloy composition is regulated to ≤0.05wt%, and the mean particle size of WC forming a dispersed phase is controlled to 2W8μm, thus uniformly depositing a fine γ' (Ni3Al) phase in a bonded phase. Consequently, while toughness and wear resistance are held, superior high-temperature strength, high-temperature hardness, thermal shock resistance, thermal fatigue resistance, etc., are obtained. This WC sintered superhard alloy is suitable for a hot working device member such as a hot rolling roll, a hot forging die, etc.
