Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the preservation quality of a heat sensitive recording medium by forming a surface layer containing a resin and a hardening agent on a heat sensitive coloring layer. CONSTITUTION:A surface layer 3 which contains a resin such as a vinyl acetate or isobutylene mainly including casein, maleic anhydride copolymer, and a hardening agent of polyamine series such as polyethyleneimide, or glicidyl series is formed on a heat sensitive coloring layer 1 formed on a support 1 such as wood free paper, art paper or the like. The surface layer mainly contains a resin and a hardening agent together with a pigment, an aggregate, etc. The contents of the resin and the agent are preferably more than 40% of the total contents of the surface layer at the viewpoint of preservation quality, and the content of the agent is preferably more than 5% of the resin content. The preservation stability against a plasticizer and an immersing agent is increased due to the surface layer, and water repellency, oil resistance, acid resistance can also be remarkably improved.
