Abstract

PURPOSE:To start adequate copying at the 1st copy after separation by driving a device when a switch which corresponds to a power switch and a door switch, and the power switch are turned on. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine body is separated into two along a dotted line and then a photosensitive drum has an optical memory effect. A detection switch 20 turning on during coupling and a heat fixing roller 12 detect a temperature rise up to a point a little bit lower than a set temperature, thereby driving an optical memory removing device. In case of, for example, a paper jam, a flip-flop, etc., starts operation by an input from the switch 20 and when the temperature of the heat fixating roller 12 rises above 160 deg.C, a main motor is driven to detect the rotation starting position of a photoreceptor 1. After the detection, respective processes of charging, exposing, transferring, and destaticizing are performed until a counter counts up to four, removing the optical memory. For maintenance, an optical memory is removed similarly to the paper jam.
