Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the visual angle dependency of the contrast of a TN cell by sectioning each display pattern, and exercising orientation control to give independent visual angle characteristics to each sectioned part. CONSTITUTION:Display patterns A-F are divided into left display patterns A'-F', and right display patterns A''-F'', respectively. Then, orientation control is exercised in such a way that the left display patterns A'-F' are seen in a directionIand the right display patterns A''-F'' are seen in a direction II. Consequently, the display patterns A-F are seen easily in both directionsIand II.
