Abstract
PURPOSE:To make acoustic D/A conversion at arbitrary points, independently of the arrangement of each speaker, by supplying bit signals driving each speaker with a suitable delay. CONSTITUTION:A shift register is used as a delay circuit 12i. When a listening area is determined to a point P, the delay time of a dely circuit 121 is set as (Xk-X1)/V=DELTAX1/V(t), where Xk is a distance between a speaker 14k at the remotest position to the point P, X1 is a distance between a speaker 141 and the point P, and V is the sound velocity at the propagation area, and similarly the delay time of each delay circuit is set. Thus, even if the point P is at unequal distance from each speaker, the sound pressure from each speaker is at the same phase at the point P and the acoustic D/A conversion is caused. As to a point Q, a distance Y1 from the speaker 141 to the point Q ia taken as a reference and the same processing can be made as the case with the point P.
