Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an ink roll for color print capable of producing clear color prints at a high efficiency which can be obtained by such a method whereby a roll made of porous material installed to a shaft is divided in its axial direction into several sections and each of those divided sections is impregnated with an ink of different color respectively. CONSTITUTION:An ink roll for color print, which is the objective of this invention, is prepared by such a method whereby a roll 1 made of porous material installed to a shaft 2 is divided in its axial direction into 3 to 4 sections and each of those sections is impregnated with an ink of different color, yellow, cyanic and magneta corresponding to the three primary colors respectively. In performing color printing by using this ink roll 1, for instance by means of wire printer system, a desired section of the roll 1 is caused to oppose with a wire dot 7 through a sheet of paper 6 and a character is printed and then the roll 1 is caused to rotate as required, and the same character is printed at the same position by using a different section and by this operation a printed character image 8 which is a mixture of different colors of teo sections is formed on the paper 6.
