Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily compute freeness value which is excellent in correlation with the heating digree by a method wherein the freeness value of a sample paper is corrected using a ratio of the concentration factor of the sample paper to a concentration factor of a reference paper. CONSTITUTION:In a reference paper, after an initial freeness time T1 has elapsed, each time times T2 and T3, which are set at equal intervals, have elapsed, a freeness value V1 (a detecting point is P2) and a freeness value V2 (a detedting point is P3) are measured, and a ratio V2/V1 between the two freeness values is computed to obtain a reference concentration factor Kn. Then, in a sample paper, the same measurement is made at the detecting points P2 and P3, and a ratio V2'/V1' between the obtained freeness values is computed to obtain a concentration factor Xs of the sample. Then, a value of V1'X(Ks/Kn) is computed to correct the influence on the concentration of the sample paper to obtain a correcting freeness quantity having a correlativity. (A value of Ks- Kn is the concentration fluctuation value of the sample paper).
