Abstract

PURPOSE:To switch smoothly clutches which selectively connect a plural number of input shafts to the crankshaft of an engine by bringing both clutches into half connected state during changeover. CONSTITUTION:When vehicle speed is accelerated up to a value suited for gear- shift with the 1st clutch actuator 8 connected, electric current supplied to a pilot valve 47 is reduced so that the 1st clutch 5 becomes half connected state resulting from reduction in pressure in a control pressure circuit 44 by the pilot valve 47 and a pressure control valve 45. Then, electric current is supplied to a solenoid valve 43 to exert pressure in a hydraulic line 44 to a piston 41 through ports 43a, 43c, so that pressure in the line 44 is introduced into a line 42 as the plunger 36b of a valve 36 is moved against a spring 36e. This causes the 2nd clutch actuator 10 to be activated so that the 2nd clutch 6 becomes also in half connected state.
