Abstract
PURPOSE:To weld a corrosion resistant metal and a lead type metal by overlaying lead (alloy) on the surface of the corrosion resistant metallic base material by TIG welding then subjecting these to a heating treatment followed by cooling and performing these stages under sealing with an inert gas. CONSTITUTION:After the surface of a high corrosion resistant metallic base material of Ti, Ta, Nb, etc. is degreased and clearned with trichloroethylene or the like and is thoroughly dried, it is overlaid with a lead type metal by TIG welding using gaseous Ar as a shielding gas. This overlaid part is heated with, for example, auxiliary torches sandwiching this above and below in a gaseous Ar atmosphere and further the overlaid part after the heating is cooled in the same Ar atmosphere. As a result, the above-described corrosion resistant metal and lead type metal are joined to the strength at which these do not separate during handling. Lead or a lead alloy (e.g.; a lead alloy consisting of 95% Pb and 5% Sn) is used for the lead type metal.
