Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the crack due to the creep damage of a welded metal part after reparative welding, by removing a region of the crack generation in the welding part of a low alloy steel and performing reparative welding for this part with the same metallic materials as the original welding metal and performing build-up welding on this reparative welding and the original welding metal with an alloy consisting essentially of Ni. CONSTITUTION:If a crack 3 is generated in a welding metal 2 for a base metal 1, a region 4 including a part of the base metal 1 and the metal 2 is removed. Reparative welding is performed in this region 4 with the same materials as the welding metal 2 by a welding rod to form a reparative welding part 5. An alloy 7 consisting essentially of Ni is built up and welded to cover completely the welding metal 2 and the reparative welding metal 5. Since a low alloy steel (such as 2.25Cr-1Mo steel) is used specially as the welding metal 2, the alloy consisting essential of Ni is built up and welded easily for the low alloy steel. The alloy consisting essentially of Ni has characteristic such as a strength at a high temperature sufficiently higher than that of the alloy consisting essentially of Ni. Consequently, the occurrence of cracks due to the creep damage of the welding metal is prevented.
