Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a scarfing device of simple constitution that can scarf plural surfaces, such as top surface, side surfaces or the like of the object to be scarfed with one scarfing nozzle by supporting the scarfing nozzle and a pair of rollers facing each other with said nozzle in-between turnably in prescribed directions. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of scarfing the top surface of an object (a) to be scarfed, a piston rod 14 is retracted into a cylinder oart 11, and a scarfing nozzle 17 is turned in an arrow E direction. The angle alpha between the central axial line of the nozzle 17 and the surface of the object (a) is set at a prescribed value and a roller 21 mounted to a bracket 19 is brought into abutment on the surface of the object (a). A high temp. flame and an ejecting gas are ejected through the nozzle 17, and arms 1, 1 are driven to advance the nozzle 17 in an arrow A direction, whereby the top surface of the object (a) is scarfed. On the other hand, to scarf the side surface of the object (a), the nozzle 17 is turned in an arrow F direction and the angle beta between the central axial line of the nozzle 17 and the surface of the object (a) is set at a prescribed value, after which a roller 20 is brought into abutment on the side surface of the object (a). The side surface of the object (a) is scarfed by the operations similar to those mentioned above.
