Abstract

PURPOSE: To apply paint in a naturally-spotted glaze-patterned state, by applying coloring undercoat paint to the surface of a substrate or a sealer applied to the surface of the substrate, drying the undercoat paint, applying water paint, whose solid components satisfy a fixed condition, to the dried undercoat paint, and then drying the water paint.

CONSTITUTION: After a substrate such as a wooden material, e.g. plywood or hard board, or plastics, e.g. polyester, is formed into a desired shape, a sealer is applied to the surface of the substrate. In this case, the sealer may be omitted when the substrate does not have special factors such as large paint absorbability. Thereafter, undercoat paint such as acrylic resin is applied to the surface of the sealer or the substate, and then large-surface tension water paint whose solid components are in the range of 5W50wt% is applied as topcoat paint. According to this method, a contact angle θ between the topcoat paint 1 and the undercoat paint 2 is larger than 90°, so that the topcoat paint 1 can be naturally dispersed on the surface of the film 2.
