Abstract

PURPOSE: To save energy for compressing boil-off gas in an LNG tank by using LNG for cold heat sourse in regasification of LNG and permitting working fluid to do ranking cycle while rotating a turbine to drive a compressor.
CONSTITUTION: LNG fed from an LNG tank 10 and pressurized by a pump 11 in heated by exchanging heat with working fluid in a separate circuit within a heat exchanger 6, and, after regasified, sent to consumer. On the other hand, the working fluid such as methane, ethane and others is discharged in gas phase from a turbine 3, and this gasified low pressure working fluid is cooled by the heat exchanger 6 into liquid phase. Liquefied working fluid, after pressurized by a pump 9, again enters the heat exchanger 6 to raise its temperature and provide mixture of gas and liquid. Next, the working fluid is heated by the sea water or the like in a heat exchanger 7 and, after the completion of gasification, introduced into the turbine 3. Boil-off gas produced in the tank 10 is pressurized by compressors 13, 13' driven by the turbine 3 and fed to consumer.
