Abstract
PURPOSE:To easly change a pad by providing a cylinder head with tapped holes and controlling upward sliding return of a valve lifter by means of a plug screwed into the tapped hole or a pin thrust through said hole. CONSTITUTION:Tapped holes 23, extending from the exterior side of a cylinder head 11 to each fitting hole 11a side, are provided. Each tapped hole 23 is extended toward the center of each valve lifter 31 and opened slightly above the head part of the valve lifter 31 at the time of its maximum travel of sliding. Further, a plug 25 is screwed into each tapped hole 23 through a washer 24 and an engagement part 25c at the tip of the plug 25 is provided so as to be positioned on the upper part of the outer periphery of the valve lifter 31 when the plug 25 is advanced by screwing. Since the lifter 31 does not make sliding return due to the control of the plug 25 even if a cam 22 is rotated, a space is formed between a pad 32 and a cam 22 at the time of changing the pad 32, replacement of the pad 32 may be facilitated accordingly.
