Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively exercise traffic control over a circuit switching network which use satellite circuits by measuring the numbers of calls via satellite circuit by zones and its incomplete traffic intensity at one satellite terminal station at least, and then controlling calls on the basis of the results. CONSTITUTION:A circuit switching network consists of a satellite 1, satellite terminal stations 5-7, and exchanges 8-17. Satellite circuits 2-4 are constituted by using a common signal circuit and many voice circuits on frequency multiplex basis. A specific satellite terminal station, e.g. 5 monitors a connection signal sent to the common circuit in the satellite circuit 2 all the time to count the numbers of calls via the satellite circuit 2 by zones and the numbers of completed calls, and thus calculates incomplete traffic intensity classified by the zones to transfer restriction information to the ground, a restriction rate, etc., based upon said incomplete traffic intensity to the exchange 8 connected directly to the satellite terminal station 5. On the basis of those pieces of traffic control information, the exchange 8 performs traffic control such as the restriction of calls, etc.
