PURPOSE:To prevent the waste of batteries at the time when power steering is not required by a method wherein the hydraulic motor for power steering is not brought into operation until a driver turns a steering wheel rightward or leftward. CONSTITUTION:The boss of the steering wheel 1 consists of an outer boss 2 and an inner boss 3. A spring pressing rod 8 and a striker 9 are protruded from the outer boss 2. A pair of struck members 10 corresponding to said spring pressing rod 8 and a pair of struck members 12 corresponding to said striker 9 are disposed in upright. Compression spring 11 are held between the spring pressing rod 8 and the struck members 10. A starting switch 14 of hydraulic motor for power steering is provided just under the striker 9 equiped at the location corresponding to the central position of the steering wheel 5.
