PURPOSE:To perform an appropriate setting of a period of preliminary combustion by a method wherein a period of preliminary combustion is controlled in response to a charging voltage of a capacitor receiving a flame sensing signal of the preliminary combustion burner by a gasification combustion control device for performing a full combustion of petroleum gasified after the preliminary combustion. CONSTITUTION:When started, the switch 1 is turned on, and the fan FM is energized and at the same time the igniter IG and the preliminary combustion valve V1 are energized through a changing-over contact point 1K1 of a relay. Then, an initiation of air blowing of the fan FM causes the air pressure switch 3 to be turned on, the fuel pump P is operated to start the preliminary combustion. Under this preliminary combustion, when the flame of the preliminary combustion burner is sensed, the comparator 5 shows an output H with the flame signal and the charging of the capacitor C1 is initated.
