Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively prevent fluctuation of rotation of a rotary drum in a copying machine, by providing a blake pad for pressing the end face of a drum flange used as a brake face. CONSTITUTION:A fixed bracket 5 transmits the force of a spring 6 through a brake arm 4 to a brake pad 3 to perpendicularly press the end face of a drum flange 7. Accordingly, friction force acts between the pad 3 and the flange 7 when the flange 7 rotates. This friction force acts reversely to the rotation direction of the flange 7 to correct fluctuation of rotation, thus permitting unevenness of rotation of the drum to be effectively prevented by providing the brake pad for pressing the end face of the drum flange.
