Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce a heat loss remarkably, and to realize improvement of working environment, and automation, by placing a furnace body having one or more closed heat retaining chambers, and its inside lower turntable, on a reciprocating motion truck. CONSTITUTION:In case when a high temperature material 5 is stored in each heat retaining chamber 23 of a heat retaining furnace 20, when the material 5 is carried to a suitable place from a continuous casting machine, a ceiling cover 11 of the chamber 23 is opened by a crane, etc., and the material is piled up in projected parallels on a cradle 10 of a hearth 9. Subsequently, when taking out the stored material 5, a position of the chamber 23 conforming with the taking-out order ia aligned with the center of a rollgang 6 of the insertion port side, and a cylinder 40 of a lifting and turning device 36 is operated. Subsequently, a turntable 24 being a part of the hearth is pushed up, by which the lowest stage material 5 is held at a position being at a distance from the cradle 10. After that, when the table 24 is turned and stopped by a cylinder 38 and is lowered by the cylinder 40, the material 5 being on the material which has been the second stage from below before that time is positioned in the direction where it is pushed out by a pusher 21.
