Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition suitably used for O-rings or the like, that would slidably and resiliently be in close contact with its partner member and would not adhere or cohere to the partner member but slide with a low friction on the partner member, which composition comprises an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer, a waxy material and a fluoroplastic.
CONSTITUTION: 55W95wt% low-crystalline and low-density polyolefin prepared by copolymerization of ethylene with an α-olefin, 2W20wt% waxy material selected from higher fatty acids, higher fatty acid esters, higher fatty acid metal salts, higher fatty acid amides or hydrocarbons and 3W25wt% fluoroplastic are mixed to produce the titled composition. Said composition is pelletized, and molded into a desired shape by extrusion, injection or other method, or coated integrally onto a material surface by an extruder provided with a crosshead die, or the composition is dissolved in a solvent, and the solution is coated onto a material surface to obtain a resilient sealing member.
