Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent both reverse gear and speed change gear provided on a same input shaft from being selected simultaneously, and prevent the gears from being locked, by operating both gears in relation to each other. CONSTITUTION:When a shift lever 53 is in R shift position, a shift valve 47 closes a forward pipe path 51 and opens a reverse pipe path 52 while a reverse valve 61 is magnetized so that oil under pressure is supplied to a cylinder 44 for a reverse gear and thereby a reverse selective gear 19 engages a reverse gear 17. At this time a piston 44a in the cylinder 44 for reverse gear moves in the direction of selecting the reverse gear 17 while a piston 34a in a 1-3 shift cylinder 34 is interlocked with the piston 44a to be moved in the direction of disengaging the reverse gear 17 from a first speed gear 12 so that the reverse gear 17 and the first speed gear 12 cannot be selected simultaneously.
