Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify construction of a marine reversing reduction gear by controlling position of a clutch plate of a friction clutch to carry out slip operation of the clutch. CONSTITUTION:When a piston 17 is rotatably displaced appropriate amount in the direction of arrow B by operating a lever 22, a ramp 30 and a pump port 26 overlap to each other in a portion thereof and oil under pressure flows into a contracting action oil chamber 23 to operate the piston 17 in the contracting direction of arrow A. Thus, a clutch operating shaft 13 is displaced by a predetermined amount in the direction of arrow A and a clutch operating plate is displaced by a predetermined amount in the direction of a friction plate to provide slip operation of the friction clutch in any degree of engagement. Thus, a ship can carry out trolling navigation with adjusted low speed.
