PURPOSE:To eliminate the highly precise processing of the component parts as well as the use of a wear resistant material, by supporting a scanning table by means of a roller having a rotary shaft which crosses the projection optical axis and is right-angled to the film scanning direction and carrying out the scanning with the rotation of the roller. CONSTITUTION:A rail member 1 is kept horizontal by a rail fixing member 2, and a travelling member 4 which supports a scanning table 3 engages the member 1. A microfilm 6 is set at the upper part of a slit 5 of the table 3. A projection optical axis 7 is set so as to pass through the center of a projection lens 8. The table 3 is supported by a roller 9 having a rotary shaft that passes through the axis 7 and is right-angled to the scanning direction 11. Thus the scanning is performed with the rotation of the roller 9. In such way, the highly precise processing accuracy is eliminated for the component parts, and at the same time the control is facilitated.
