Abstract

PURPOSE:To form magnetic powder for magnetic recording medium in corpuscles being independent one by one with each other by a method wherein after a glass material is dissolved in an acid, magnetic powder is made to break away from a glass composite base material, and at the same time, a polymerizing monomer is made to adhere on the surface of magnetic powder to encapsulate. CONSTITUTION:After a composite of glass and a composite of magnetic powder are mixed and melted, the melted mixture is cooled rapidly to form a flake type amorphous material, and moreover the amorphous material thereof is heat-treated at about 700-900 deg.C to make hexagonally corpuscular ferrite to be deposited in the glass type material. To take out the corpuscles from the amorphous material thereof, washing is performed with an acid for the proper hours using a dilute acid, acetic acid for example. The flake type material dissolved in the acid under the proper condition like this way is mixed with the polymerizing monomer, the flakes are pulverized in a crusher to make magnetic powder to be broken away from the glass composite material, and at the same time, the polymerizing monomer is made to be adhered on magnetic powder thereof to be encapsulated or grafted, and after then, it is filtered through a filter, and is dried to take out the treated magnetic powder.
