Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the omission of coagulating precipitation or the like and to simplify a purifying process, by treating crude water in a biological purifying process including an anaerobically fermenting step at its preceding stage, and then in a COD-decomposing process which does not substantially generate sludge.
CONSTITUTION: After remnants are removed from crude night soil by a screen or the like, the crude night soil is diluted into tenfold or so with tap water or the like and then introduced into a biological dephosphorizing step 5 to remove BOD and SS from the night soil. Thereafter, the purified tenfold-diluted night soil is introduced into a COD-decomposing step 6 which does not substantially generate sludge. In this way, contaminants mainly consisting of COD and chromaticity are economically removed without substantial generation of sludge. Consequently, the purifying process can be extremely simplified, so that a conventional purifying process for dephosphorization, denitrification and the removal of COD and chromaticity can be improved.
