PURPOSE:To obtain continuous reproduction of a PCM signal for a long time from a plurality of tapes, by switching the reproduction of the magnetic tapes through the coincidence of recording time and the like of the magnetic tapes in reproduction or preparatory state. CONSTITUTION:The coincidence of addresses corresponding to a reproduction and ecording time or a recording time stored in a demodulation section DEM2 of a magnetic tape T2 in reproduction preparatory state and to that from a demodulation section DEM1 of a magnetic tape T1 is detected at a coincidence detector DET. Then, a motor M1 stops via a servo circuit SRV of PLL constitution in response to the output of coincidence from the detector DET and a motor M2 synchronizingly starts, a switch SW is controlled, the reproduction from the tape T1 is changed over to the reproduction of the tape T2 for continuous reproduction. Thus, long time continuous reproduction of PCM signals can be made by one set of LPF and D/A converter.
