Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a recorder which is capable of efficiently obtaining a reproduced print of which size varies by the adoption of such a system wherein plural sets of printing device each of which has a print line of different width are arranged and these devices are selectively used. CONSTITUTION:A recorder is composed by providing recording heads of which line width varies respectively (for instance, an ink jet head 10 having 2,400 pieces of orifice, a head 20 having 2,080 pieces of orifice and a head 30 having 1,728 pieces of orifice) and cassettes for accommodating sheets of printing paper of which size varies respectively (for instance; a cassette 115 for paper of B3 size, a cassette 215 for paper of A4 size and a cassette 315 for paper of B4 size) in each of printing units 100, 200, 300 respectively. Consequently, the above recorder is capable of easily performing efficient printing as it drives only such a recording unit to which a sheet of recording paper which conforms to a desired print size is fed as required.
