Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect deviations perpendicular to the travelling direction of cut pieces so that the deviations may be corrected, by detecting and measuring the length of each of the cut pieces in the travelling direction of triangular shape register marks, which are arranged in the direction perpendicular to the travelling direction with respect to a rectilinear shape reference marks. CONSTITUTION:An automatic controller is fed from a scanning head 8 with an output signal which indicates the length of each cut piece in the travelling direction of triangular shape register marks 7, and is simultaneously fed from a scanning head 5' with another output signal having a constant value (b) which means the length of the cut piece in the direction of rectilinear reference register marks 6, so that the controller is adapted to compare these two output signals. Thereby the deviation of a wind-up paper may be determined to the size relation of these two output signals.
