Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure an assured correction for the leap year with a simple timepiece circuit, by setting a timepiece circuit at the date mode of a leap year based on the result of comparison between the date data of the timepiece circuit and the leap year data of a memory. CONSTITUTION:When an electric power supply is applied, a CPU 1 reads the date time data of a timepiece circuit 6 via a bus 2. Then the year data of the date data is compared with the leap year data of an ROM 3 to discriminate a leap year, and then whether the date is on and after February 29 is decided. In case the data is before February 29, the circuit 6 continues the counting. An FF 7 keeps the set mode. The CPU 1 checks the output state of the FF 7 in case the circuit 6 indicates March 1. When the set mode, i.e., the uncorrected mode is recognized, the data on March 1 which is read out of the circuit 6 is replaced with the data on February 29 read out of the ROM 3 to be supplied to the circuit 6. Then the data of the circuit 6 is corrected.
