PURPOSE:To produce a shaft member with a hollow flange inexpensively and mass-productively by press fitting a hollow shaft into the hole of two annular members having inside and outside circumferential walls in inside and outside circumferential parts, and butting these to each other then welding the outisde circumferential walls to each other then welding the inside circumferential walls and the hollow shaft to each other. CONSTITUTION:Two tray-like members 22 assuming an annular shape and having inside circumferential wall 16 and an outside circumferential wall 18 are manufactured, and a separately manufactured hollow shaft 10 is press fitted into the hole enclosed by said walls 16, thence key coupling parts are formed between the walls 16 and the hollow shaft 10. The members 22 are butted and fixed, and the walls 18 are welded to each other. Next, a through-hole 26 is formed to at least one of the member 22, and one electrode 32 is inserted into the space enclosed by the two members 22 through the hole 26. The other electrode 34 is inserted into the shaft 10 and the walls 16 and the shaft 10 are welded through electric resistance welding by both electrodes 32, 34.
