Abstract

An electrical connector for terminating flat multiconductor cable has a base (12) supporting a plurality of insulation-piercing contacts (14) and includes a cover (46) having ledges (54) disposed in non-interfering relation to the contact pattern and adapted to retain marginal portions of the cable (not shown). The connector base (12) has recesses (28) of complementary shape to the edges (54) for receiving the ledges when the cover (46) is brought to bear on the base to entrap a cable therebetween. <IMAGE>
