CONSTITUTION:A gelatine recording medium containing a photosensitive agent (ammonium dichromate, etc.) is exposed by an interference pattern by use of an He-Ne laser, is immersed in a hardening agent solution, and after that, is fixed, is washed with hot water, and after that, is immersed in a hydrophilic and volatile solvent (isopropyl alcohol, etc.), and after that, a phase hologram is obtained by drying with hot air. On the surface of this phase hologram, poly-monochloro-paraxylylene is vapor-deposited under the vacuum. Said vapor-deposited film is free from a pin-hole, is vapor-deposited uniformly, is excellent in its solvent resistance, a temperature characteristic and a size characteristic, and almost same as gelatine in its refractive index, therefore, it has a perfect moisture proof effect since incidence efficiency of an incident reproducing light beam is satisfactory.
