Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a compact storing equipment which can be used actually, by installing circular guides having guide rolls at a prescribed interval along the outer circumference to the outside of a deflecting roll which changes the advancing direction of strip and the outside of the inner guide, so that the circular guides may rotate normally and reversely and also stop freely.

CONSTITUTION: When no strip is stored, velocities V, V' of incoming and outgoing strips 1, 1', respectively, are the same. When a strip is stored, the speed of a pinch roll 8 is increased or that of a feed roll 5 is reduced so that velocities V and V' become V>V'. At this time a outer guide 4 rotates along the direction A with a speed corresponding to V-V'. Under this condition, a plate 1 forms coils 13 and 14 on the outer circumferences of the inner and outer guides 3 and 4. Since the inner diameter of the coil 14 is reduced at this time, deflector guide rolls 10 and 11 are set to movable condition by a spring 12. The length of stored plate is known by measuring the rotated angle of the guide 4, and the guide 4 stops its rotation by setting V=V' when a prescribed length storing is completed. When the strip is discharged, velocities V and V' are set to become V<V', and when the storage approaches 0 the velocities are set to V=V'.
