Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform reproduction with less noise in an arbitrary speed, by running tape from a location without production of noise band, with a step motor driven with pulses controlled with the synchronizing signal of a rotating head. CONSTITUTION:A tape 4 is set to a location without noise band by moving a capstan 8 little by little with a noise band detecting circuit 12 and a position set circuit 11. When a gate 14 is opened with a running indication signal pulse (c) by a synchronizing signal (a) from a rotating head and a pulse (b) obtained through the adjustment of a reproducing speed set resistor 26, pulses of an oscillator 13 are applied to a motor drive circuit 10 to turn a step motor 9. When pulses pass through by the number for one frame's share set to a counter 17, the gate 14 is closed and the motor 9 stops. Thus, a low speed reproduction can be made with less noise by reproducing the same frame for an arbitrary number of times. Further, the pulse rate of an oscillator 13 is increased and reproduction is made with skipped frames, then high speed variable reproduction can be made with the same circuitry.
