Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent an information-formed layer from deteriorating in its early stage by forming an intermediate protective layer, made of a hydrophobic material, between the substrate and information-formed layer of an optical disk. CONSTITUTION:On one surface of a substrate 1 which has a little hydrophilic natural and a surface polarized when viewed microscopically, an intermediate protective layer 2 is formed, and on it, a recording layer made of Te of Al or an information-formed layer 3 made of a light reflective layer is formed. Then, they are stuck together to constitute an information storage medium 4. The intermediate protective layer 2 uses a material which contains at least one of hydrophobic organic higher polymer materials, such as polyethylene, silicon, ''Teflon '', and vinylidene chloride to prevent the information-formed layer from deteriorating in its early stage, achieving stable information processing for a long period.
