Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform a test of hardness by applying an extremely small load on a sample by loading a sample base at right angles to the same base by slanting the sample base. CONSTITUTION:On the bevel of 1a of a supporting frame 1, a sample base 3 where a sample 2 is fixed is provided. The tips of a couple of leaf springs 4 whose base ends are fixed to the supporting frame 1 are linked to the upper and lower end parts of a load shaft 5 arranged along an axial line B perpendicular to the sample base 3. A driving member 6 which has a receiving part 6a for receiving the pin 5b of the load shaft 5 from below at its tip part has its base end fixed to the supporting frame 1 through a leaf spring 6b. When the 2nd driving wire 9 is tensed by a force motor 10, the 1st driving wire 7 is also tensed through a transfer-directional transducing member 8 to rotate a driving member 6, so the load shaft moves down by a weight 11 along an axial line B to press a pressure element 5a against the sample 2. The angle theta of the bevel 1a is approximated to 90 degrees to decrease pressing force.
