Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to certainly close an open and close valve by the temsion of a spring, by latching off a latching pawl from a cam plate by the movement acconpaning the cooling of a thermostat as it is cooled off, when gas is extinguished with some reason or other during combustion, in a gas automatic shut off device of a gas combustor. CONSTITUTION:The open and close valve 9 provided to a gas passage 2 is interlocked with an ignition knob 5 through a valve opening and closing rod 4. The open and close valve 3 is opened immediately before ignition, and is held in an open state by latching a cam plate 7 which moves together with an open and close valve 3 on a latching pawl 8. When a burner is extinguished during combustion due to a sudden gust of wind or an overflowing of biling matter, a thermostat 11 which functions by combustion heat is cooled off, returning to the position of a virtual line from that of a solid full line. By the return of a thermostat 11, a thermo-rod 12 is moved to the direction of an arrow sign, a latching pawl 8 is pulled by a hook part 12a at the tip of a rod, coming off the latched part 8b of a latching pawl 8 from a sickle-shaped projection 7a of a cam plate 7. The open and close valve 3 is energized to a close direction by a valve closing spring 6, closing an open and close valve 3, so that blow-off of gas is shut off.
