Abstract

PURPOSE:To optionally form a margin independently of the main body of a copying machine, by controlling the working period of an original feed driving motor to transport the original up to a prescribed position and starting the formation of an image onto the recording paper at the prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid 12 is driven when an original supply, and one sheet of the originals 9 is fed into an original feed device and moved further up to an end part of a conveyor belt 5 by a feed roller 6. The belt 5 is wound round rollers 11 and 11' and turned by a transport driving motor 2 after an original supply command is delivered. A timing disk 3 turns simultaneously with the rotation of the motor 2, and the rotation of the disk 3 is detected 4 to detect the working period of the motor 2. A CPU (not shown in the figure) is connected to a programming means as well as an ROM and an RAM, and the motor 2 is turned on and off by the data given from the RAM and the input from a rotation detector 4. Thus the original is transported to the prescribed position to start the copying, and an optional margin is formed.
