Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the consecutive connection working, by unifying a cutter and a peeler of optical fibers to decrease the number of tools as well as to eliminate the time required for exchange of tools. CONSTITUTION:A cutting means 2 is set on a fiber mounting face 1a. The means 2 contains an arm 3, a cutter box 4 and a holding member 5 and is attached to a substrate 1. The base end of the arm 3 is attached rotatably to a pin 7, and the arm 3 is energized by a spring 8 in the direction opposite to the cutting direction of the box 4. A peeling means 10 for optical fiber F contains a holding part 12. The fiber F is fixed by a fiber fixing groove 16 when a fiber holding stand 14 is put on a fiber mounting stand 13. Coat removing cutters 11a and 11b for fiber F are set at both grooves 15 and 16 along the circumference surface of the groove radius. These cutters bite the coat of the fiber F when holding the fiber F between them.
