Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable measuring of the concentration of oxygen in gas to be measured at a high accuracy with a simple construction by containing metal component in a metal composing one electrode to promote the ionization of an oxygen molecular. CONSTITUTION:An oxygen sensor element I has an anode electrode 2 made of Pt on one side of a disc-shaped solid electrolytic sintered body 1 (oxygen ion transmissing body) and a cathode electrode 3 made of a mixture of an A group component (Pt and Au good in the heat and acid resistance and electric conductivity) and a B group component (Ag, Pd, and Rh which facilitates ionization of oxygen moleculars by the formation of unstable compound with oxygen) on the other side thereof. Lead wires 4 and 5 are connected separated to the electrodes 2 and 3. In addition, the electrodes are covered with a porous coating layer 6 and the other ends of the lead wires 4 and 5 are connected to a power source 7 to construct an electric circuit. This oxygen sensor element enables measuring of the concentration of oxygen in a gas to be measured at a high accuracy with a simple construction as compared with those utilizing the conventional concentration cell.
