Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatize the supply of a cop by a method wherein when a predetermined number of carriers are stocked in a passage, the carrier on a cop supplying conveyor is not supplied to a unit but is passes by to be supplied to the next unit. CONSTITUTION:When the predetermined number (three, in the figure) of the carriers 19 carrying the cops conveyed in the direction of an arrow 67 on the conveyor 16 are stocked, the succeeding carrier passes through the first passage 51 and is stopped by collision against a base 20c of the carrier 19c. As a result of the large contact area of the carrier and a belt 16, a large frictional force is exerted and the carrier 19e at the inlet to the first passage 34 is moved forwards along a guide surface 52 through the third passage 70 and is transferred to the next winding unit by the conveying belt 16. Accordingly, the predetermined number of cops are supplied to every unit by moving the belt 16 circulatorily.
