PURPOSE:To transfer a paper securely by a method wherein an elastic body having a thickness of such an extend as to increase a kicking-up effect is privided at an end of a paper-transferring stiff body. CONSTITUTION:A stiff body 2 fixed at its end part 16 on the paper delivery side is provided in a path of a gripper 13, a spring 3 is attached to the delivery-side end of the body 2 and an elastic body 17 is attached to the paper reception side of the body 2. When the engagement between the gripper 13 and the stiff body 3 is released in a paper-feeding process, the body 2 is instantaneously returned from the broken-line position to the solid-line position by the spring 3. In this case, the end of the paper is slightly projected beyond the end of the elastic body 17 attached to the reception end of the stiff body 2 and comes to a position higher than the feed surface of a feeder 5 on the paper reception side, so that the paper naturally falls onto the feed surface of the feeder 5 with the progress of the feeding motion and is moved in the direction of an arrow 12 by a belt 11, completing the transfer of the paper.
