Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the protection of transistors and thus to increase the reliability of a control device, by detecting the current flowing to the transistor of a control circuit and then turning off immediately when the detected current exceeds a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:An AC input 1 is charged to a capacitor CO after a full wave rectification carried out by diodes D1-D4, and all transistors TR1-TR6 are turned off when the power source is applied to a circuit. Thus no current is flowed to each of clutch coil CL- thread cutting solenoid TRM of an industrial sewing machine. When these CL-TRM are actuated when necessary, the TR1-TR6 are selected for conduction by the output of a signal control circuit CTR. In case when a fault arises at either one of the circuits, a current detection element CD detects this fault. This faulty current is compared with the reference voltage Vref by a comparator CM. Then logical circuits AD1-AD6 are controlled by the output of an FF11 to protect TR1-TR6.
