PURPOSE: An easily handleable composition suitable as a deodorant, etc. and releasing chlorine dioxide little by little, which is obtd. by allowing a calcium silicate molded product of petallike crystal structure contg. small amounts of iron to adsorb a stabilized chlorine dioxide soln.
CONSTITUTION: A calcium silicate molded product contg. about 0.01W0.03wt%, in terms of Fe2O3, iron and having ordinary petallike crystal structure is used as such as a carrier, or it is adjusted in an iron content to 0.02W0.2wt% in terms of Fe2O3. 100pts.wt. said calcium silicate molded product is allowed to adsorb 10W280pts.wt. stabilized chlorine dioxide soln. to prepare the purpose chlorine dioxide releasing composition. Volatilization rate of the chlorine dioxide depends on the amt. of an iron compd. contained in the carrier. It is possible to adjust the volatilization rate by adjusting the amt. of the iron compd. according to a purpose for use.
