Abstract
PURPOSE:To keep a rotary shaft in a neutral status so as to avoid abnormal abrasion and obtain a bearing concurrently acting as an axle housing by arranging springs so that a submerged bearing and a thrust pad will not get into contact with a casing or a bearing cover. CONSTITUTION:Springs 14, 16 capable of sufficiently resisting against loads in the direction of a thrust are arranged between a submerged bearing 9 and a casing 3, and between a thrust pad 15 and a bearing cover 17. Since a gap g is maintained between them at all times and a shaft is operated in a neutral status, failures such as abnormal abrasion, etc., will not occur. The submerged bearings 8, 9 concurrently act as an axle housing which cools, seals, and lubricates the bearing. Thereby, the machine can be kept short in its longitudinal span, can be installed even in a narrow space, and can also be furnished at a low cost because of reduced number of parts used.
