Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A dental adhesive composition, usable by polymerizing an N- monosubstituted phenylmethacrylamide expressed by the formula (R is COOH or COOC2H5 when substituted at the m-position, and COOH, COOC2H5 or CH2COOH when substituted at the p-positon), e.g. N-methacryloyl-m-aminobenzoic acid, as a polymerizable monomer, solely or as one component. The (co)polymer is capable of bonding to the tooth wall strongly even when used as a filler for the tooth itself without causing the formation of gaps and falling off of the filler due to the poor bonding, and improving the border sealing property remarkably even when used as a coating agent or adhesive for a filled material, e.g. a composite resin.
