Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate an investigation of crystal neuclear forming substance for preventing the overcooling of the heat accumulating material by providing outside the heat accumulating vessel a crystal neuclear forming substance housing hollow member, one end of which is opened inside the latent heat accumulating material and leading a heat accumulating material fused liquid up to the crystal neuclear forming substance by the capillarity.
CONSTITUTION: The hollow member 5 outside the heat accumulating vessel body 1 is cooled and maintained below the melting point of the crystal neuclear forming substance 11. A part of the fused liquid 2 is led without interruption to a space at the bottom 5' by the capillarity of fiber substance 10. In this instance, if a first crystal neuclear forming substance 11' is attached to the bottom 5' side of the inner surface of the hollow member from an upper end opening 9, the fused liquid 2 first contacting with the crystal neuclear forming substance 11' immediately becomes crystal. Such a crystallizing phenomenon proceeds gradually in the downward direction up to a position at which the heat accumulating material fused liquid is at its melting point. There is formed a zone in which the liquid and crystal having the same composition as the heat accumulating material coexist. This facilitates a selection of crystal neuclear forming substance for preventing the overcooling of the heat accumulating material.
